We have been engaged to provide a senior rotating equipment engineer to enable our client to continue their growth and further cement their reputation as an expert in the rotating equipment sector.
This is a new position which has been created due to strong growth, achieved through exceptional service delivery across a range of rotating equipment. The client often faces unique engineering challenges and therefore requires a high-calibre individual to devise and provide outstanding solutions to these challenges.
Based in Perth and reporting to the State Manager, you will be a responsible for providing engineering solutions for a range of rotating equipment across the oil & gas and power generation sectors. We anticipate the role will require around 20-30% site travel and you will be the technical focal point for the client across a portfolio of major projects.
For the right candidate, this role offers very strong career progression opportunities with the ability over time to develop into a project manager and grow a wider team, cementing yourself as integral to the business.
In the immediate term, you will be working in a tight-knit, collaborative, safety driven team environment with a strong focus on service-delivery. Typical duties of the initial role include:
- Delivering technical field-based solutions across a variety of rotating equipment such as compressors, turbines and pumps
- Assisting clients with planned and unplanned maintenance scopes
- Providing input into developing workscopes and providing technical assistance for tender opportunities
- Conducting boroscope inspections, fault-finding analysis and condition monitoring for gas turbines and other rotating equipment
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 8-10 years’ hands-on experience with large rotating equipment ideally to an OEM level. In addition you will be/have:
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or similar
- Experience working with asset owners to provide expert analysis and develop technical solutions related to rotating equipment
- Strong understanding of aeroderivative or heavy duty gas turbines; axial and centrifugal compressors and auxiliaries
- Strong understanding and experience of performing routine and specialist maintenance procedures such as boroscope inspections or top case removals
- A proactive person with a positive attitude and an ability to lead, collaborate with and influence a range of stakeholders to successfully deliver projects
- A desire to go above and beyond in delivering a high-quality service to clients
In addition, if you have knowledge of turbine controls or PLCs this would be advantageous.
