Senior / Lead Mechanical Engineer

We are working with a well-known engineering services business specialising in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing facilities. With a strong global footprint and a sustained period of growth, they are now seeking a Senior / Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across a broad range of commodities, with projects located across Australia and internationally. This role offers the opportunity to influence projects from early concept development through to detailed design and, ultimately, construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide senior mechanical engineering input across studies and projects
  • Support Engineering Managers and Project Directors with technical delivery
  • Contribute to and review conceptual and detailed mechanical designs
  • Review drawings, vendor documentation and technical submissions
  • Prepare and review datasheets, scopes of work and tender evaluations
  • Participate in internal and client design reviews
  • Ensure designs meet relevant standards and are fit for purpose
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Provide input to construction and commissioning activities as required

The Successful Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A bachelor degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • A strong focus on quality and safety
  • Sound software capabilities in relevant packages
  • Strong workflow and time management capabilities
